Young T. Hughley Jr., who has led the Resources for Residents and Communities organization for more than two decades, is retiring.

Hughley, retiring chief executive officer,  founded the Reynoldstown-based nonproft, which offers programs such as homebuyer education and counseling, financial education and foreclosure prevention counseling. Hughley will remain as CEO until a replacement is found.

A graduate of Morehouse College, Hughley started the organization with $12,000 in seed capital.

A fundraiser and tribute will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Trees Atlanta, 225 Chester Ave. Proceeds will be used to support RRC's community work.
