The Cobb County Board of Commissioners has approved the lease agreement between Cobb County and Zion Keepers, Inc. for use of the Rose Garden facility for homeless veterans.

There will be no impact to the county’s General Fund.

The lease includes an initial five-year term with three five-year renewal options for a nominal lease rate of $10 per year.

Zion Keepers, Inc. will provide case management services, life skills education and counseling — all for homeless veterans.

The organization will be responsible for all facility repairs, maintenance, upkeep and improvements to the property while maintaining adequate amounts and types of insurance as approved by the county.

In March 2010, the Cobb County Healthy Futures Foundation deeded the Rose Garden Hills/Davenport Town Public Health Center at 1861 Teasley Drive in Smyrna to Cobb County which accepted the deed transfer.

Then in April 2010, the commissioners approved a lease agreement with Omosaze, Inc. to provide eligible Community Development Block Grant services in the facility.

Omosaze leased the facility until November 2016 when the organization ceased operations.
