Hiker rescued after falling down 25-foot embankment at Georgia trail

A hiker was rescued after falling from an embankment at Dukes Creek Trail in Helen, according to White County emergency services officials Monday.

Officials said the woman fell about 25 feet about 12:30 p.m. She was airlifted from the trail to an ambulance located at Smithgall Woods.

Authorities said her injuries were minor.

No other details about the rescue were released.
