A busy stretch of Howell Mill Road will close for a couple weeks so city of Atlanta crews can clean a sewer main.

Setup for the project is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cleaning is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 8 during the same hours and last about two weeks. The road will be closed between Wesley Drive NW and Peachtree Battle Avenue until the work is completed.

Traffic control measures and flaggers will guide motorists around the work zone. Residents and businesses will continue to have access to mail and package delivery, emergency services and trash pick-up.

Here’s the detour, as provided by the city

• Traveling north on Howell Mill Road NW, turn right onto Woodley Drive NW, turn right onto Wesley Drive NW toward Northside Drive NW, turn left on Peachtree Battle back towards Howell Mill Road NW and make the right onto Howell Mill.

• Traveling southbound on Howell Mill Road NW, make a left on Peachtree Battle Avenuetowards Northside Drive NW, make the right on Northside, turn right onto Wesley Drive NW to Woodley Drive NW, turn left on Woodley Drive and make the left onto Howell Mill.
