Put that cape away, crime fighter.

The Acworth Police Department doesn’t want your feats, instead your footage.

The department has started a new program in which people can register their security cameras with the city so the cops know where to ask for footage during the precious first hours of an investigation. They don’t have access to your camera.

It is free to register, and you can cancel whenever.

“When and if a crime happens in the general vicinity of one of these registered cameras, our agency will contact that individual in hopes that their camera has captured events that may help solve the crime,” the department said.

Those interested can register here.
