The event will be held at the sheriff's office headquarters, which is also the Gwinnett County Detention Center, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. While walk-ins are welcome, the department recommends interested candidates pre-register at gwinnettsheriffjobs.com. All applicants should bring an ID with them.

Qualified candidates who have pre-registered will receive a tour of the facility and participate in a panel interview. Some may receive conditional job offers on the spot, the department said.

Deputy sheriff jailers can start with salaries ranging from $36,451 to $41,791, depending on their education level and previous law enforcement experience. Deputy sheriff seniors can earn a starting salary of $41,538 to $53,569, depending on the same factors.

Those with additional questions about the hiring process can contact the sheriff’s office professional standards unit at 770-822-3134. The sheriff’s office is located at 2900 University Parkway in Lawrenceville.
