Gwinnett County Public Schools is welcoming 13 new principals this school year.
All but two of the new school chiefs are elementary school principals, and all come from other posts within the district.
The new principals are:
- Christine Knox, principal of Anderson-Livsey Elementary School (previously principal of Head Elementary School)
- Lesley Pendleton, principal of Berkeley Lake Elementary School (previously assistant principal at North Gwinnett Middle School)
- Craig Barlow, principal of Gwin Oaks Elementary School (previously assistant superintendent for elementary schools)
- Lisa Marie Johnson, principal of Head Elementary School (previously principal of Lawrenceville Elementary School)
- Kara Dutton, principal of Jackson Elementary School (previously principal of Peachtree Elementary School)
- Grelauris Calcaño, principal of Lawrenceville Elementary School (previously assistant principal of Rockbridge Elementary School)
- Tonya Burnley, principal of Macgill Elementary School (previously principal of Gwin Oaks Elementary School)
- Melanie Lee, principal of Norton Elementary School (previously assistant principal of Norton Elementary School)
- Kelli McCain, principal of Partee Elementary School (previously assistant superintendent for elementary schools)
- Gretchen Runaldue, principal of Peachtree Elementary School (previously assistant principal of Peachtree Elementary School)
- Rachel Ernst, principal of Starling Elementary School (previously assistant principal at McConnell Middle School)
- Shane Orr, principal of Central Gwinnett High School (previously assistant principal of Central Gwinnett High School)
- Rodriguez Johnson, principal of North Metro Academy of Performing Arts (previously assistant principal of Knight Elementary School)
All Gwinnett County schools start classes for the academic year on Aug. 7.
