Gwinnett County Commissioners recently approved a $154,970 contract to purchase two replacement 12 passenger prisoner transport buses from Peach State Freightliner, LLC. The purchase will be made utilizing a State of Georgia competitively procured contract.
These buses will be used to transport inmates and Work Alternative Program participants to various locations around Gwinnett. The work details are contracted by the county and local cities to perform labor services on public property and at public facilities and buildings. These buses make it possible for the Department of Corrections to provide a supplemental labor force to the county.
