A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after running into another vehicle whose driver fled the scene, Gwinnett County police said.

A Lilburn man was riding his motorcycle on Dickens Road when he collided with a Honda Pilot from behind. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike, and the driver of the SUV fled the scene, according to a police report.

The motorcyclist was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center Lawrenceville with serious injuries. The driver of the SUV has not been identified, and the color of the car is not known, but the car is believed to be a Honda Pilot with a model year between 2009 and 2015. The car should have damage to its rear windshield or rear quarter window, as well as a missing driver’s side tail light.
