A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with the killing of 23-year-old Giovanni Segura.

Segura was shot Saturday night at the Exxon gas station on Lawrenceville Highway near Bryson Park in Lilburn, police said. It is not clear what led to the shooting.

Segura’s girlfriend called 911 and drove him to Eastside Medical Center. Segura died at the hospital that evening.

After speaking with witnesses, investigators identified Ulises Oliver Maldonado-Jimenez as the suspect in the fatal shooting. Lilburn police arrested Maldonado-Jimenez at his Lawrenceville home on Sunday.

Maldonado-Jimenez is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
