A man has turned himself in to Gwinnett County police on charges of raping a woman at knifepoint.

Eugenio German, 40, surrendered to police Sept. 7, almost a week after the alleged attack.

German and the woman knew each other before the alleged attack. The woman called police on Sept. 1 around 10 a.m. and told them German had raped her in her Duluth home and threatened her with a knife. When the woman was able to escape the home into her car, German followed and purposefully struck her car with his, according to police.

German is charged with aggravated assault by strangulation, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, rape, false imprisonment and battery. He is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
