Gwinnett County has made applying for a gun permit a little more convenient.

The county announced this week that it has begun offering fingerprinting services at its probate court offices, the same place where carry licenses are applied for and issued. That means applicants no longer have to go to "another office ... with different hours in a different building" to complete the fingerprinting phase of the process, county spokeswoman Heather Sawyer said in an email.

First-time applicants must pay a $72.50 fee and renewals are $30, but there is no additional charge for fingerprinting.

Services are offered from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Gwinnett County Probate Court inside the Gwinnett Justice and Adminstration Center, located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.
