“We are excited to add this feature to our transit vehicles,” said Karen Winger, director of the Gwinnett County Transit Division, in a release. “The Wi-Fi connection will allow our customers to stay connected while they enjoy their stress-free transit ride.”

The launch of free Wi-Fi on Gwinnett County Transit buses comes less than three months after MARTA added free Wi-Fi to its buses and trains.

Gwinnett County released its long-term plans for transit expansion in early April. That plan includes a heavy rail connection to the Doraville MARTA station and bus rapid transit.

Gwinnett County Transit operates five express routes using the managed lane on I-85, six local routes and paratransit service.
