Gwinnett County Public Schools students will have an extra break next school year: The district has added a five-day fall break in October for the 2018-2019 school year.

Here are some key dates for Gwinnett students and parents to know:

  • The first day of school will be Aug. 6.
  • Fall Break will be Oct. 4-9.
  • Classes are cancelled for Election Day, Nov. 6.
  • Thanksgiving Break will be Nov. 19-23.
  • Winter break will begin Dec. 21, and students return to school on Jan. 3.
  • Inclement weather make-up days are scheduled for Feb. 15 and March 29.
  • Students will have a day off on Feb. 18.
  • Spring break will be April 1-5.
  • The last day of the 2017-18 school year will be May 22.
