Georgia soldier killed in Afghanistan

An Army soldier from Barrow County was killed Saturday in Afghanistan, the U.S. Department of Defense said.
Staff Sgt. Keith Freeman Rudd, 36, of Winder, died in Parvan, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained while supporting combat operations.
Rudd was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Rudd joined the Army in 2003, WRAL.com of Raleigh-Durham-Fayetteville, N.C. reported. This was his third deployment.
