The State Board of Regents won't vote on the University of Georgia's plan to demolish a historic pool for at least two months, Regent Larry Walker said.

The board's real estate committee heard about the college's plan to replace the 77-year-old pool but no action was taken, said Walker, the committee chairman.

Some students and community members oppose the destruction of Legion Pool and the state historic preservation office has raised concerns.

UGA has said the pool is leaking and has other maintenance issues. They said it is more cost effective to build a new one.
