An online memorial fundraiser has been established to honor a Cobb County man who was killed in a motorcycle crash in Sandy Springs last week.

Cameron Densler, 24, of Marietta, was killed on March 31 near Abernathy Road when a vehicle failed to yield to Densler, who was on a motorcycle, police said. The driver, Martin Miller, has been charged with second degree vehicular homicide.

Laura Bogen organized the fundraiser through the website YouCaring.com with the goal of raising $10,000. Densler's family is asking for donations in lieu of flowers for his funeral.

As of Friday afternoon, the page had raised $2,635.

The entry on the YouCaring.com page said that Densler is survived by his parents, a brother, a nephew and several friends and family members.

Densler’s family plans to use some of the raised funds to have fishing pole holders installed on a wharf in Madeira Beach, Florida, with plaques in memory of him. Densler, they said, loved that beach and fishing.

His family also wants to use the money to help other grieving families who have experienced a similar tragic event.

“This was a young man whose gentle soul left an impression on everyone he met,” the entry on the YouCaring.com page reads. “His world revolved around his family, and trying his best to enjoy life while also bringing joy to others' lives. Needless to say, this caring, kind soul left this world much, much too soon.”
