Forsyth County residents will soon see preliminary work for a new interchange of Ga. 400 at Browns Bridge Road (Ga. 369), as workers clear the area and remove underground storage tanks, county officials said.

The project is scheduled to go out for bid this fall, with contracts expected to be awarded early next year, officials said.

Plans call for a grade-separated, partial cloverleaf interchange to replace the present at-grade, signalized intersection. Also, Ga. 369 to be widened on both sides of the crossroads, from just west of Ga. 9 to slightly east of Ga. 306, a distance of about two miles.

The project is in north Forsyth near Coal Mountain. It will be funded by a Forsyth transportation bond approved by voters in 2014, and by the Georgia Department of Transportation, officials said. Information: https://bit.ly/2LPoP1d
