Forsyth County residents will be able to “Bring One for the Chipper” and recycle their Christmas trees at six locations beginning Thursday, Dec. 26.
"The service is free and helps keep trees out of landfills," according to an announcement by Keep Forsyth County Beautiful. "Trees are ground up and made into wood chips, available at no cost to county residents at our Coal Mountain Recycling Center, 3560 Settingdown Road."
Residents are responsible for their own loading and hauling.
Trees will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dec. 26-Jan. 4, at Vickery Creek Elementary School, 6280 Post Road, Cumming; and from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, Dec. 26-Jan. 25 (closed Jan. 1 and 20), at the county recycling convenience centers at 351 Tolbert St., Cumming; 3678 Old Atlanta Road, Suwanee; and 3650 Settingdown Road, Cumming.
Until 4 p.m. Jan. 4 only, trees will be taken at the Home Depot stores at 1000 Market Place Boulevard, Cumming, and 2635 Peachtree Parkway, Suwanee.
