Acknowledging Gov. Brian Kemp's directive that schools in Georgia remain closed through April 24, the Forsyth County School District announced it will continue online learning for two more weeks, with students returning to classes on Monday, April 27.

The district previously had set Monday, April 13, to resume regular operations after time away due to the COVID-19 crisis. Plans now call for online learning to continue past spring break, April 6-10. Student meal drive-through and delivery also will continue, except during the break.

Schools and facilities will remain closed to non-essential employees and the public, and “all school activities, events and athletics will not occur until we reopen,” the district said. “More details will be shared prior to April 27.

“While we are anxious to return to our normal routines, especially for our senior class, we encourage all members of our FCS family to continue to be flexible and patient for the safety of our students and staff.”
