Forsyth County announced public information open houses in the coming weeks on potential changes to county polling places and voting precinct lines.

Open houses are set for 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Forsyth County Elections Office, 1201 Sawnee Drive; 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Sharon Springs Park Community Building, 1950 Sharon Road; and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Hampton Park Library, 5345 Settingdown Road.

Also, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the Midway Park Community Building, 5100 Post Road; and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Forsyth County Elections, 1201 Sawnee.

The proposal calls for 16 election-day voting precincts and 20 election-day polling places, up from a respective 16 and 15 currently, according to a county website. A hearing to approve a final order adopting the changes is scheduled for Oct. 1.
