Six lighted tennis courts, a pavilion and new restrooms are being built at Matt Community Park in northwest Forsyth County and are scheduled to be completed early next summer, according to a county announcement.

The improvements at the park, 6555 Wallace Tatum Road, will be next to an existing playground. “The playground at the park is very popular, so adding these facilities nearby makes perfect sense,” said Forsyth Parks and Recreation Director Jim Pryor.

Part of the parking lot in front of the playground will be closed while construction is under way, but the playground itself will remain open. The project is funded by SPLOST VII (B) funds.

Opened in August 2016, Matt Park also offers four synthetic turf rectangular fields, two pavilions, restrooms and a multi-use trail. Information: https://bit.ly/2YMu3zm
