Five arrested in Marietta double murder

Three men and two women were arrested Wednesday evening in connection with a Marietta double homicide early Wednesday morning, police said.

Christopher O'Neal Jackson, 27, of Marietta, and 28-year-old Mark Anthony Jones of Mableton were fatally wounded before 2:30 a.m. at the Los Colinas apartments in what investigators believe was an apparent armed robbery, Marietta police spokeswoman Officer Jenny Murphy said.

Police arrived to find one man dead inside the apartment, Murphy told the AJC Wednesday. The other, whom Murphy said was shot in the chest, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center, where he later died.

Rolanda Fripp, 19, Joseph Eugene Brown, 25, Darchelle Arnold, 19, Desmond Post, 27, Jarvis Butts, 21, all of Marietta, are facing multiple charges, including murder, felony murder and armed robbery.

"All suspects were located as a result of our detectives canvassing the complex and interviewing subjects," Murphy said.

She said it is unclear who fired at the men, although police continue to investigate.

The suspects are in police custody at the Marietta police department headquarters, and will be transported to the Cobb County jail at 9:30 p.m., police said.

Witnesses told police that they saw three men running from the apartment, Murphy said.

Investigators searched the apartment, which Murphy said did not have any furniture inside. She said it's unclear whether the apartment was rented.

No drugs, money or weapons were found during an initial search, she said.
