The Evermore Community Improvement District is moving closer toward construction of Phase II of the Evermore North Boulevard project. Condemnations by the county will allow the CID to move one step closer to creating an alternative route for motorists traveling Ga. 78 by realigning Britt Drive, Highpoint Road and Walton Court. The county anticipates spending $190,700 in SPLOST funding to purchase the land.

The project aims to connect Walton Court and Rockbridge Road. Phase I of the project widened an existing part of Old Highway 78. Phase II will begin where Phase I ended, then cross Highpoint Road ending at Britt Drive. A third phase will later will continue Evermore North Boulevard beyond Britt Road, but is not yet slated to begin.

When completed, Evermore North Boulevard will extend 4.2 miles and connect to Evermore South Boulevard via a flyover bridge near the Yellow River to Rockbridge Road.
