City council seats across Gwinnett County were settled Tuesday night in runoff elections.

Snellville, Norcross and Braselton all had races go into the Dec. 3 runoff after no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in November.

In Snellville, Solange Destang won the Post 2 seat over Brittany Marmol. Destang, a South Gwinnett High School Teacher, received 551 votes — 58% — and Marmol received 401. Post 2 was an open race, as Councilman Roger Marmol, Brittany Marmol’s husband, did not run for another term.

Bruce Gaynor won the Norcross runoff by a margin of 42 votes. Gaynor received 274 votes — 54% — and Tyler Hannel received 232. The at-large seat is currently held by Councilman Dan Watch, who did not seek re-election.

Incumbent Councilwoman Becky Richardson defeated challenger Richard Mayberry in Braselton. Richardson received 98 votes, or 61.64%, and Mayberry received 61, or 38.36%.
