Eddie King's wild and wonderful bottles

Photos: Eddie King of Brookhaven creates vivid hand-painted bottles.

He's known as "Bottle Art Eddie." Eddie King, 77, has been creating hand-painted bottles and selling them art festivals since 2001.

Wildly colorful bottles fill the basement of Eddie King's Brookhaven home.

"I've been doing these bottles for about seven years," said King, who turned 77 in June. "I don't know where this comes from because I didn't exactly grow up with art in the home. But for a long time I've been interested in these great swatches of color."

In his home studio, Eddie King paints a copy of a Degas painting on a wine bottle.

Although King currently paints bottles with famous artwork or photos of icons, he first used photos of his family on the bottles.

King works in his studio surrounded by unpainted bottles.
