The Duluth City Council recently reviewed design plans for the development of the Willbrooke Pedestrian Trail. This path, connecting the Willbrooke subdivision to downtown, will add residences from another 297 single family homes (a 22 percent increase) that will be able to more easily walk to downtown (within 3⁄4 mile). Traffic calming methods and lighting options were also discussed.

The city will present the preferred design plan to the Willbrooke HOA at a meeting in early Nov. The HOA meeting will be scheduled immediately after the city closes on the purchase of the existing home at 3545 McClure Woods Drive.

The timeline for this project is tentatively set for demolition of the house in Feb., construction to begin in March, with the trail open by next May.
