Score: 56

An Asian buffet in Norcross failed its recent health inspection, with officials noting a dirty kitchen sink and food being improperly stored and cooled.

Hong Kong Hibachi Buffet, located at 5905 Jimmy Carter Blvd., received a 56/U on its Thursday afternoon inspection.

According to the report, "food particles" were found in a sink by the kitchen's walk-in cooler and raw salmon being thawed in another sink designated for vegetables. Food containers and cups were stacked while still wet and the sanitizing solution used with wiping cloths was also not strong enough, officials said.

Inspectors also noted "utensil handles stored touching food" and cold foods like shrimp, cabbage and "imitation crab" being held at improper temperatures.

A follow-up inspection will be completed within 10 days of Thursday's evaluation. Attempts to contact the restaurant Friday were unsuccessful.
