The DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management will close three traffic lanes along Glenwood Road to conduct water main installation work at Glendale Drive, according to a press release. The lane closures will take place 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily on Glenwood Road, between Ridgeland Drive and Parkhill Drive beginning Wednesday, March 20, to Saturday, March 23.
The water main installation work is part of the Glendale Water Main Replacement Project. The lane closures are needed to complete the installation of a new, 36-inch water distribution main at the intersection of Glendale Drive and Glenwood Road.
The intersection at Glenwood Road and Glendale Drive will be closed to allow heavy equipment to be used as part of the project. Residents will be able to access Glendale Drive from McAfee Road and Ridgeland Drive. Detour signs will be in place to assist residents around the intersection closure and flaggers will assist motorists through the construction zone.
The project will improve drinking water services and improve DeKalb County’s water infrastructure system.
