DeKalb’s County’s “Mobile Farmers Market” will provide free, fresh produce to families this summer.

The “Fresh on DeK” program begins next week, giving out food every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday until Sept. 18.

It is the sixth year of the farmers market program, which aims to bring fresh food to various locations around DeKalb.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the county will provide pre-bagged fruits and vegetables for free. Residents must register online or call 404-298-4080 ahead of time in order to pick up food. Registrants will also receive "virtual nutrition education," the county said in a statement.

The full schedule for the farmers market and specific instructions can be found online.

The program is run by the DeKalb County Cooperative Extension office.
