Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of robbing at least two dollar stores in south DeKalb County.
DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said that about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, the suspect entered the Family Dollar in the 3500 block of Panola Road, armed with a weapon, and demanded money from the cash register before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.
About 15 minutes later, the same man is believed to have robbed the Dollar General store in the 2500 block of Wesley Chapel Road, Paris said.
“Detectives believe the man is responsible for additional business robberies in DeKalb and neighboring counties,” Parish said.
She described the suspect as black, 21 to 24 years old, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black jeans and a red baseball cap with Atlanta Braves written on the front.
Parish asked that anyone recognizing the suspect call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477.
