On select weekends starting in November, DeKalb County will again pick up and throw away residents’ bulky items for free, officials announced this week.

The curbside collection will happen on Fridays and Saturdays beginning Nov. 22. The schedule depends on when your trash and recycling is normally picked up.

The county Sanitation Division will collect bulky items including furniture and large appliances.

Here is the schedule breakdown:

  • If your regular collection day is Monday, free bulky item pickup is Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23.
  • If your regular collection day is Tuesday, free bulky item pickup is Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7.
  • If your regular collection day is Wednesday, free bulky item pickup is Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14.
  • If your regular collection day is Thursday, free bulky item pickup is Friday, Dec. 20 and Saturday, Dec. 21.

Items should be placed on the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the Friday of your designated pickup weekend.
