City Schools of Decatur earned an A on their report card for Niche’s ranking of Georgia’s best school districts for 2019.

The ranking and review site listed Decatur schools as the fourth best in the state.

According to Niche, rankings are calculated using weighted factors: Academics are 50 percent, teachers are weighted at 15 percent, culture/diversity is 10 percent, parent/student survey results are 10 percent, health/safety is 5 percent, resources is 5 percent, clubs and such are 2.5 percent and sports are 2.5 percent.

Letter grades are then assigned based on how each school performs compared to all others in the ranking.

City Schools of Decatur was also ranked No. 14 out of 183 for districts with the best teachers in Georgia.
