Citing concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak, the Cumming Recreation & Parks Department and Cumming Aquatic Center have suspended all programs and activities through the end of the month.

The suspension will last "a minimum of two weeks, with a reevaluation of the safety concerns and conditions made at that time," according to a city announcement.

Registration for future gymnastics, dance, drama and art programs and classes are postponed. FitPasses will be frozen at their current status and reinstated upon the resumption of programs.

Recreation facility rentals will be canceled during the suspension period, and no new rentals will be accepted for dates earlier than April 13, the city said. Aquatic center rentals also will be canceled during the closure.

Those registered for the current session of Aquatic Center programs will be credited for missed classes, the city said. Registration for the spring session remains open, and registration for the summer session will begin Monday, March 23.
