Cumberland Circulator routes should begin in March

All six buses for the two new Cumberland Circulator routes are expected to arrive in late January at an estimated cost of $3.35 million.

This update was presented Tuesday by Cobb Department of Transportation Director Jim Wilgus to the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, voting to set a public hearing for the Cumberland Circulator service implementation.

With service expected to begin in March, the buses will be operated by CobbLinc, a service of Cobb Community Transit.

The core Circulator route will start at the Cumberland Transfer Center and travel in both directions, connecting the RaceTrac corporate offices, Akers Mill Square, Cobb Galleria, SunTrust Park, Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria, The Weather Channel and Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.

The southern Circulator route will start at the Cumberland Transfer Center and travel both ways to the Home Depot corporate offices, primarily traveling along Cumberland Parkway.
