A Madison County woman was injured Tuesday in a wreck that was blamed on a wasp.

Hannah Wooten, of Comer, was driving westbound on Ga. Loop 10 in Athens on Tuesday morning when a wasp got into her 1989 Ford Bronco, according to Athens-Clarke County police spokeswoman Hilda Sorrow.

"As she tried to get the wasp out of the vehicle, she lost control," Sorrow said. "The vehicle traveled into the median, flipped over at least two times and came to rest upright."

Wooten was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment. Her condition was not immediately available.

Sorrow said no charges would be filed.
