A teenage boy was stabbed by a classmate wearing a hoodie and a mask near Shiloh High School on Thursday morning, Gwinnett County police said.

The victim was on the side of Valley Brook Road in Snellville, within a mile of Shiloh, when he was stabbed, police said. A teenage suspect was in custody as of 8:40 a.m. and was released to his parents by Thursday afternoon. Both the victim and the suspect are Shiloh students, said Cpl. Michele Pihera, a police spokeswoman.

Police have not yet identified the suspect or filed criminal charges because they are still trying to determine who was the primary aggressor, Pihera said.

The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening, according to police. He was stabbed on the left side of his torso.

Because of the ages of the suspect and the victim, police will not release their specific ages or names, Pihera said.
