A man who posted a Craigslist ad to sell an iPad instead pulled a knife on the would-be buyer. But thanks to his other online postings, Gwinnett County police were able to track down the suspect.

Raemonte Gentale Harris, 24, initially told the prospective buyer he would meet her in a Target shopping center parking lot, Cpl. Jake Smith said. But at the last minute, Harris called the woman and changed the meeting location to the parking lot of the Century Park Apartments in Buford.

Harris was carrying a small box when he met the victim, but it apparently didn't contain an iPad. Instead, Harris allegedly pulled out a butcher knife and demanded money from the victim, which he got, police said.

But the victim was able to provide investigators information about the suspect's other online postings, leading to his arrest Thursday, Smith said. Harris was charged with armed robbery and booked into the Gwinnett County jail, where he was being held Friday without bond.

Anyone with information about similar incidents that may involve Harris is asked to call Gwinnett police at 770-513-5300.
