Gwinnett County police are searching for a man they say used a stolen credit card before stealing a $3,000 check from a restaurant.

The man walked into the Come to Go restaurant in Duluth with a woman on May 8. After the man spoke to an employee and paid for food, the employee walked away, and the man grabbed an envelope from behind the counter. The woman stood in front of the man as he put the envelope in his pocket, and they left together, police said.

The envelope contained a check for $3,000, police said. The card the man used to buy the food was later discovered to be stolen, according to police.

The man was described by police as being of medium build and average height, with a full beard and a tattoo on his right forearm. Investigators believe he is between 25 and 35 years old. The woman was described as being of medium build and average height. She had black hair with blonde highlights that was worn in twists and is believed to be 25 to 30 years old.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
