A Duluth Sam’s Club employee took a photo up a customer’s skirt while she put her son in a car seat, a Gwinnett County police report says.

Niayre Lashawn Mitchell, 24, has been charged with felony invasion of privacy.

The woman walked to her car on Sept. 28 with a cart full of groceries and her young son. Mitchell approached the woman and “insisted” on helping her put her groceries in her car, the report says. When the woman started putting her son in the car, she felt an object touch her leg and heard a sound effect associated with a camera taking a picture, she told police.

When an officer arrived, the woman identified Mitchell in the presence of the store’s manager. Mitchell said he did help her with her groceries, but did not take any photos. When an officer went through Mitchell’s phone, he saw multiple photos of nude women, the report says. Mitchell told the officer that his phone “may have taken pictures on its own,” according to the report.

The officer arrested Mitchell, who was then booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center. He was released on Sept. 29 on $2,950 bond.

Sam’s Club did not respond to a request for comment.
