This is a roundup of recent crimes of note in north Fulton County. It is based on arrest warrants, police reports and jail records. At this point, these are allegations by law enforcement. For crimes in Sandy Springs, some of these reports are from Captain Steve Rose’s “Weekly Wrap Up.”

The Bobby Brown theft story?

A Sandy Springs woman called police on April 4 reporting a theft. The woman was away from her Northland Drive home from April 1 to 3, and during that time allowed a crew from BET’s “The Bobby Brown Story” to film there, police said. When she returned home the woman said that cash and jewelry were missing from a safe, however, police say, she left instructions to open the safe on top of it. The police report states that the woman reported $1,500 in cash missing, as was $300,000 in rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches. Police have not yet made an arrest.

Plenty of fish, and cash

Police say that a man stole $8,000 from a 28-year-old Sandy Springs woman on March 31. The woman told police she met the man on a dating site called “Plenty of Fish” and that his name was either Marco or Dorico. According to police, the man picked the woman up at her home in a Dodge Challenger. He had her withdraw $8,000 from her bank to buy a car. Before buying the car, he took the woman to a hotel and asked her to go inside and retrieve his luggage. She did, and left the $8,000 in the car. The man drove away before she came back. She told police that the man’s right leg was amputated and his left leg was in a cast.

Strip club fight

A man was arrested at adult club “Flashers” in Sandy Springs on March 31 after the man got into a fight with staff members when he refused to pay for a $20 dance. Police say the man was violent, verbally abusive and that alcohol was involved.

Stolen gun

Alpharetta police say that a 42-year-old Dawsonville man’s handgun was stolen from his car on April 19 while he was completing work inside of a Morris Drive home. The man told police the vehicle was only out of his sight for 25 minutes. The gun is a Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380 pistol.

Missing watches, leaf blower

A 59-year-old Alpharetta man called police to his home on April 17 to report a burglary. The man told police he was gone for three hours to see a movie and when he returned home things seemed out of place. The man told police he was missing a leaf blower, seven watches and 20 shirts, totaling $2,850. The man told police he believed his ex-wife may have come into the home and taken the items, but according to a police report, officers called the woman who denied removing anything from the home.
