College Park City Council has agreed to donate some of its old fire equipment to underdeveloped cities in Nicaragua.

The city agreed to donate surplus Mine Safety Apparatus Self-Contained Breathing equipment and fire hoses on the request of Interim Fire Chief Wade Elmore.

The outdated gear cannot be sold in the United States but is welcomed by developing nations.
