Cobb Parkway at Ga. 92 to see improvements
Several transportation projects were approved 5-0 Tuesday by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, including Cobb Parkway at Ga. 92.
Baldwin Paving Company Inc. was awarded a $2,585,623 contract for thoroughfare improvements on Cobb Parkway at Ga. 92. The project includes the addition of dual left-turn lanes on Cobb Parkway northbound to Ga. 92 southbound. Ga. 92 southbound will be widened to two lanes from Cobb Parkway to Acworth Dallas Road. Then Ga. 92 northbound will be widened for an exclusive right-turn lane.
Other intersection improvements include new crosswalks, new pedestrian and traffic signalization, resurfacing of the intersection and associated pavement markings and signage.
More transportation projects approved by the commissioners include:
- $200,000 to Colonial Pipeline Company for preliminary engineering of Interstate North Parkway at Interstate North Circle.
- $137,234 to Lewallen Construction Company for Piedmont Road (East) sidewalk.
- $128,750 to Pond and Company for engineering design of Beech Haven Trail sidewalk.
- $125,635 to Chatfield Contracting, Inc. for a segment of Compton Drive to repair sinkholes.
