Five years after cops found Danielle Marshall’s bloody body crumpled in her Powder Springs kitchen and her nine-month-old girl crawling around, a jury took 45 minutes to determine that Joshua Maurice Gibson killed her.
That’s according to Kim Isaza, spokeswoman for the Cobb County district attorney’s office, who said Friday that Gibson — the father of that baby girl — was found guilty of all charges he faced, including malice murder.
Marshall, 23, was pistol-whipped and shot once in the head, prosecutor Jesse Evans said during the state's opening statement on Jan. 31.

The pair met at a Goodwill in Powder Springs where they both worked.
Evans characterized the relationship between Gibson and Marshall as a “cycle of domestic violence ... that culminated in her death.”
The series of events that night, according to one of Gibson’s defense attorneys Thomas Griner, was that Gibson got worried Marshall hadn’t been responding to his calls and texts, so Gibson went to the house that night in January 2013. He claims he called 911 after she didn’t answer the door.

Police deemed it a cold case after a year.
A break came, the prosecutor said, from examining phone records, which pointed to Gibson, who was arrested in 2015 at age 27.
As of 3:45 p.m. Friday, Gibson has not been sentenced for his charges.
