The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to spend $65,000 to begin work on a new fleet service facility on County Services Parkway to service the county’s new police cars.
The county has already acquired 30 more police cars and anticipate 300 more vehicles by the end of this year.
Of the $65,000, $50,000 will go to an architect for programming and a schematic design and $15,000 for soil testing and survey.
“This process will keep the project moving and get the new facility constructed as soon as possible in readiness for the new police cars’ service requirements,” said Property Management Director John A. Reida.
