Two of the 10 fastest growing counties in the United States are in metro Atlanta, according to recent report by cnnmoney.com.
Forsyth County takes the No. 6 spot and Paulding County is No. 8 in the report, which analyzed population statistics since April 2000.
With a population of 174,520, Forsyth has seen a growth rate of 77.4 percent due to a rise in highly-paid professionals choosing homes in the area, according to the report. Forsyth is located north of Atlanta.
Affordable housing may have helped the growth rate of Paulding County, located northwest of Atlanta. The county has seen a 67.4 percent growth rate over the past 10 years, bringing its population to 136,655.
Topping the list of fastest-growing counties is Kendall County, Ill., outside of Chicago. The mostly rural county grew in population by nearly 100 percent, according to the story.
