UPDATE: Dantanna's was reinspected Friday and received a 99/A. The sole violation noted was that utensils were improperly stored in the ware-washing area; all handles must be upright to prevent food contact contamination.
ORIGINAL STORY (July 25): A location of a popular Atlanta sports restaurant chain failed a recent health inspection, Fulton County records show.
Dantanna's in the CNN Center scored a 35/U following the Monday evaluation. There are also locations in Buckhead and Sandy Springs.
Scores below 70 are considered failing. The downtown location’s prior score, from November, was a 91.
According to the report, roaches were observed during the inspection.

Officials also reported “heavy fruit fly activity” and a black and pink slime-like substance inside an ice machine.
Grant Dyrenfurth, general manager, said every issue is being addressed.
One problem Dyrenfurth highlighted was the coolers. He said they were “on the fritz” and not keeping proper temperatures, but were being repaired Tuesday.
He expects the restaurant to pass the next inspection “with flying colors.”
Follow-up inspections are generally completed within 10 days of the original evaluation.
