Bond was revoked Wednesday for the church organist accused of child pornography, sending the 34-year-old back to jail.

Jeremy Christopher Rush, of Mableton, was suspended from his job at Roswell Presbyterian Church after news of his January arrest surfaced, the Rev. Tim Read told the AJC last week.

One of the conditions of Rush's bond was that he not be around children under 16. Although 2,600 people attend the church, Rush was not directly involved with any of them, one of his attorneys, Meg Strickler, told the AJC.

"Our argument was that this is his vocation," Strickler said. "He was in the choir loft, 10 feet above everyone else."

Rush had worked at the church for about two months.

At a motion hearing Wednesday morning, Cobb County Judge George H. Kreeger revoked Rush's bond, Strickler said.

Rush was arrested Jan. 16 and released six days later on $50,000 bond. More than 70 video files of child porn were found on his home computer, according to his arrest warrant.
