An Ivy Creek Elementary School student was injured and transported to a hospital after a car accident Monday morning outside the school, Gwinnett County police said.

The child has not been identified, but it is a boy under the age of 10. The accident at the Buford school was reported at 7:21 a.m. A police spokeswoman did not know how many cars were involved, or if the child was in a car seat or using a seat belt. The child was a passenger in a car during the accident.

The child was taken to Children’s Heatlhcare of Atlanta at Egleston Hospital. His condition is unknown.
