The National PTA appointed Leslie Cushman of Cherokee County to its board of directors at its 114th Annual National PTA Convention.

Cushman has been a PTA member and leader at every level from her local school to a past state president of the Georgia PTA. She is a licensed dispensing optician, yet has been described as a full-time child care advocate through nearly 30 years of local and state service.

“I am truly excited to be appointed to the board. As a member of the board, I look forward to being a voice for children and parents throughout the country on issues that affect them every day,” said Cushman.
